- Discuss the legal and professional issues around Cannulation and Venepuncture
- Discuss the venous anatomy and suitability of the vessel
- Have knowledge of veins and anatomy
- Patient preparation prior to procedure
- Demonstrate awareness of equipment. Cannulars and butterflies vacuumed systems
- Safe competent procedure
- Common complications: Haematoma, Extravasation, Needle stick injury and minimising the risks
